sotong ball is a shopping list for a home project: the family, their designer and the people they share links with use it to pick furniture and lighting. This page says what the app keeps and why. Last updated 29 September 2026.

What we keep

Your account. Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. We use them to sign you in and to show who did what on a board.

What you add. Boards, rooms, items, options, links, plan drawings, photos, notes and comments. That is the content of the app, shared with the other people on the same board.

Guest comments. Someone who opens a share link can comment under a name they type. We keep the name, the comment and which link it came through.

Usage. Which pages are opened and which actions are taken, so we can see what works and fix what does not. This is done with PostHog and Vercel Analytics.

What we do with product links

When you paste a product link, our server fetches that page to pull out the name, price, size and a picture. Pages that need a browser are fetched through Browserless, and an AI model from Anthropic may be used to read the page text. Only the page you pasted is sent. Nothing about you is.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase and the app runs on Vercel. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Google sign-in is handled by Google and Supabase. We do not sell data, show ads, or share your data with anyone beyond the services named here.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. Another remembers the share links you have opened so they keep working on your device. Analytics use their own cookies to tell repeat visits apart.

Your choices

You can edit or remove what you added at any time from inside the app. To delete your account and everything tied to it, or to ask anything about this page, email hello@sotongball.com.
